Description

This is a unique, vintage embroidery silk display case from the 1920s - 1930s. It's a fabulous display case for any kind of special collection. Collectibles such as: fountain pens, wrist watches and toys fit in the individual compartments and can be put on display behind the glass sliding doors. Sewing antiques can be stored in this cabinet, as well as embroidery floss.


Sewing related antique display cases like this are very rare and highly prized by collectors.  It's so versatile, you can use it for many things and it is ideal for showcasing special collections.


The cabinet is made of tin and front doors are sliding glass panels.  The metal exterior is clad in dark blue enamel, and there is a large Clarks Boilfast Insignia on both sides of the case, as well as across the bottom of the display.  The rows of display slots are made of tin as well.  There are 4 rows with 16 slots each. Length (from left to right) 28"; depth (from back to front at bottom) 14"; height 10".


Clark's was a noteworthy brand which was producing sewing threads and embroidery silks throughout the Victorian Era and into the early decades of the 20th century.
