This U2 1997 poster is custom framed and signed by artist Rex Ray. He is a celebrated contemporary Fillmore poster artist with work displayed in the historical Fillmore Poster Room. From album covers and concert posters for some of the world's biggest rock stars to prints featured by interior desiners to paintings and collage in fine art collections, Rex Ray's artwork is a rare combination of pop sophistication, commercial design and handmade craft. His package designs for David Bowie, as well as for Joe Satriani, Diamanda Galás, Matmos, and Deee-Lite, have earned him an international reputation for his innovation in type and with original photographs, drawings, and collage. He has designed over 100 historic Bill Graham Presents rock and roll tour posters, including ones for The Rolling Stones, Patti Smith, R.E.M., Bjork, U2, and Radiohead, all part of the SFMOMA permanent collection.
