Description
16" X 20" Watercolor
Bertozzi’s abstracted collection of color and line gives the viewer a different perspective on Block Island. The quick, long brush strokes of Bertozzi’s watercolors give the landscape a strong sense of movement. Horizontal blocks of color – pale and dark greens, deep eggplant, and even the white of blank canvas – give us a hint of landscape, more suggesting its impression in the mind rather than its physical appearance.
Judith Bertozzi, a former faculty member at the Worcester Art Museum, currently teaches art full time in the Dighton/ Rehoboth School System. She received her 4-year certificate degree from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and her BFA from Tufts University. She also holds a Master's Degree in Arts in Education from Lesley College. Her work can be found in private and corporate collections.
