In “Pink Tulips,” Nicholson presents a common subject with textured and layered individuality. The combinations of color values and shapes that make up the tulips give the flowers almost an abstract quality on their own. Nicholson experiments with many textures while using the versatile medium of the pastel – from the glassy, realistic texture in the blue vase to the sketch-like background which flows with the subject’s movements.

Karole Nicholson, a pastel artist, recently completed a series of vibrant, brightly colored paintings which focus on common kitchen scenes; simple shapes that surround us in everyday life. Karole's paintings have appeared in solo and group shows throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.  Karole is represented by The Next Door Gallery in Mansfield, MA.
