Description
14" X 22" Watercolor
Porreca depicts a subject that is nostalgic to New Englanders – a rocky coastline, clear blue waters, and the quintessential lighthouse. The colorful palette in the foreground – with its bright blues, fresh tans, and a splash of terra cotta red rooftops – contrasts with the grey and murky sky in the background. Her watercolors add a new layer of texture to the choppy waters as well as the misty clouds above, reminding the viewer of the warning the “Boston Light” serves to sailors.
Linda M. Porreca is a member of the Canton Art Association, the Needham Art Association, the Wellesley Society of Artists, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society and the Attleboro Arts Museum. She exhibits frequently in Massachusetts in both solo and group shows. Linda won a Third Prize in the Art Emporium show in Needham and an Honorable Mention at the “Arts Affair” show at Marina Bay this year as well as numerous awards at shows in Wellesley and Needham.
