Description

11" X 14" Photograph

This photograph was taken in Agadez, Niger.  I was there to document the
work of a NGO called Rain fro the Shahael and Sahara.  Their mission is to
provide educational resources to the semi nomadic Tuareg. We had stopped in
Agadez to meet the local officials.  When we awoke in the morning there was
a raging sandstorm.  The odd color of the atmosphere is one of the results.
This image was one of 10 finalists in the 2004 Smithsonian Photo competition.
