This watercolor portrays for the viewer the quiet yet charming scene of a blue farmhouse. Sumner chooses a calming color palette in grey-blues, browns, and olive greens, and additionally the piece shows a wide range of brush strokes. All of these elements culminate in a serene and soothing pastoral scene.

Norma Sumner is an award winning, self-taught, artist who exhibits frequently throughout the US.  She belongs to the Gold Coast Watercolor Society, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society, the Cape Cod Art Association and the National League of American Pen Women of Washington, DC.   Her work is in collections in the United States, England, Denmark, Italy, Japan and Lithuania.
