It started when Barbara was growing up in New York City, watching her grandmother studying under Hans Hoffman. Later, moving to Argentina, then Italy - and eventually southeastern Massachusetts - images of tango dancers, LaBoca, Naples, Positano, colorful life and family celebrations imprinted in her mind, she became a Naif artist.

In recent times Barbara has specialized in abstraction, with its elements of color and movement. But with the innocence and humor of Naif painting continuing to have its hold on her, Barbara can truly describe herself as an ABSTRAIF artist!
