This piece is inspired by the sight of irises blooming in the springtime.  It has been created by hand-dyeing fabrics to capture the purple and blue shadings of the blossoms, then cutting, fusing and stitching them in an original design that expresses the graceful qualities of the iris.

The artist uses traditional shibori techniques melded with modern technology to create pieces that range from quiet and contemplative to vibrant celebrations of color.
