Description
Artist Julienne Saslaw often uses photographs as a reference when painting, to help her understand the detail of her subjects. That's what she thought she was shooting - in the desert southwest - when she captured this image. But through a fortunate accident, her eighth photo was a double exposure resulting in the captivating vision seen here. It's called Visions of Sedona VII and is donated by the Royal Gallery of Fine Art on Providence's Federal Hill.
Originally from New York City, Julienne won an art scholarship and has been an art teacher. She currently resides in Providence and works in watercolors and oils, as well as in photography and encaustics on wood shapes which she prepares herself.
