Description

Here's an exciting, colorful work with a totally unique perspective, as well as a unusual makeup of component parts. It's The Dream  by Judy Skoogfors-Prip.

Accomplished in several media, the Philadelphia native has also performed ballet in Philadelphia and New York. Judy has been a fashion designer and art professor, for a time chairing the Fashion Illustration Department of Moore College of Art and Design. She is active in the Providence Art Club.

Teaching today at Rhode Island School of design, Judy specializes in highly personal multimedia pieces. Completing the stitchery in this work was a painstaking process, then the embroidered linen was glued to a large canvas and oil paint and silver leaf were applied. Judy explains this piece is about the emotional journey she traveled after the loss of several family members.
