This mixed media work, Rose Island Light - Pell Bridge, Newport, RI  is by Newport artist Joseph Matose and it illustrates his love of Rhode Island's City by the Sea.

Joe created his first painting when he was two - and kept at it. By high school his work was gaining attention, and he later attended both the University of Rhode Island and the Rhode Island School of Design. His award-winning work has been seen in several galleries and also illuminates books of poetry penned by the artist himself.
