Painting is an integral part of Anthony's life. He teaches painting, operating the Deacon Taylor Studio on the East Side and is represented by ten galleries, locally and throughout the country. His work has been the focus of numerous shows.

Anthony is part of the noted group The Elevens (named for 11 Thomas St., home of the Providence Art Club), with Del-Bourree Bach and Harley Bartlett. He credits Gene Tonoff, Sam Ames and Enrico Pinardi with having greatly influenced his work.
