Artist Beth Johnston of Coventry, RI salutes the late Massachusetts Senator with an original oil painting, Senator Kennedy.

An emerging local artist with Bay State roots, Beth felt the Senator's larger-than-life public persona wouldn't have been captured with a formal pose. That's why he's depicted here being interviewed - an image familiar to most Americans.

Beth Johnston is a member of the East Greenwich Art Club and the South County Art Association.
