An incredible opportunity for a young artist: a two-and-½ hour private nature drawing and painting session for a child, aged 6 to 12, with published illustrator Tess Feltes. 

Tess and her lucky pupil will develop sketches of a favorite animal, and together will transform one sketch into a 16" x 20" acrylic-on-canvas painting. Lesson will include instruction in technique, color, and composition, with all materials provided, and will be held at Tess's Portsmouth studio between January and September 2010. Depending on availability, the lesson can be arranged during a school vacation week or on a Saturday morning.

Tess has worked as a natural science illustrator for a range of clients, including CRICKET Magazine, Highlights for Children, High Five Magazine, and Millbrook Press, as well as the Office of Endangered Species and the University of New Hampshire botany and entomology departments. She has taught drawing and painting classes in public and private schools as well as in her studio and is always amazed at the talent and creative energy of her young students.
