Description

Batch ordered, cold pressed and imported from Sparta.  Mistra Estates Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a unique Greek oil blended from the nine olive types native to the groves of Mt. Taygetos near ancient Sparta. These included the famous athenolies, koutsourolies, reftolies, matolies, mourtolies, stroghylolies, karydolies, trypiotikes and korakolies varieties, all renowned in Greece for deep body, superb color and rich texture.  These olives are hand-picked and cold-pressed on the farm estate of Mr. Eugene Ladopoulos near Sparta. The oil is stored and bottled unfiltered on the farm thus preserving its rich flavor. Each bottle is individually numbered and marked with the harvest year and the harvest/cold-pressed lot.

Yearly production from this small estate is 5-6000 bottles a per annum.  This year, 76 (or perhaps 152) cases have been batch ordered, cold-pressed and imported from Greece exclusively for Concordia College. All bottles are marked: “Imported for the Friends, Family and Staff of Concordia College.” We are the only importer in the U.S. of this particularly fine oil.
