Long before becoming a household name and cultural icon, Tony Hawks was just a skinny kid who whirled about the Southern California skate park scene with a list of innovative tricks that never seemed to stop. At the age of 14, Hawk turned pro for Powell-Peralta and received his first pro model in 1982, the graphic upon which was little more than a literal representation of his name. Lagging in sales, this board soon received a graphic overhaul from V. Courtlandt Johnson, The end result was the iconic "Skull & Cross," or the "Screaming Chicken Skull, as Tony later nicknamed it.
