Baby and her friend Gentleman are Rhesus Macacques, and are permanent residents at Broadbent.  They live in large naturally landscaped habitats, nothing like where they came from.  

Years ago, they were removed from a horribly abusive place by the State of Kentucky and placed at Broadbent.  They had been found living in an old outhouse with over a foot of compacted animal waste on the floor, and they were terrified of people, especially if they were wearing boots or camouflage clothing.  We hate to think of what they had endured.

Now, Baby and Gentleman like to climb in their trees, enjoy a healthy diet (with a popsicle treat sometimes - one of their favorites!).  They swing and play on their "bunk beds".  Gentleman has a stuffed toy that he keeps with him, and no one better get close to it!  Baby loves the staff, and will show her affection by grooming them, and picking at freckles as though they were bugs.   Once in a while, Baby takes a swim in the hot tub.  They are both still somewhat timid, but now living a happy and safe life and are very loved!
