In June 2010, Cincinnati Opera will stage Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Richard Wagner’s monumental comic opera of singing and love. Singing the role of Hans Sachs, the greatest of the "master singers," will be Metropolitan Opera bass-baritone James Morris. Get ready for the big event by watching this 2001 Metropolitan Opera dual-DVD (almost three hours in length) featuring Mr. Morris in the same role. For added value, he has autographed the DVD case. James Levine conducts the recorded performance and returns to his native Cincinnati for next summer’s production.
