Description

Palm, Sheath, Pihlodendron and Feather basket.

Lilikoi also known as banana poka, grows in the mountainous areas throughout Hawaii.  Diane Moore, Artist, gathers these fibers from the dense, forested slopes of Hualalai which overlooks the warm Kona coast, then cleans them for eventual use in her line of decorative and functional basketry.  The majority of her baskets are twined with this fiber.  She uses split leaf philodendron, banyan root, dracodracaena, jacaranda pods, inflourescence and numerous other foliage from the landscape to add varying colors and textures to her Fiber Art.

This is a Live Event Item.
