Description
Michigan Outdoor Skills School in the spring 2010 session of M.O.S.S., located on 30 acres in Mikado (near Oscoda), Wednesday, June 16 - Sunday, June 20, 2010. Learn traditional skills such as fire-by-friction, bark container-making, flint-knapping, using wild edibles and plants, Dutch oven cooking, map and compass orienteering. Session also includes a two-hour guided canoe trip on the AuSable River. Over the past 20 years, Jim Miller’s Michigan Outdoor Skills School has grown to be the premiere course of its kind in the state.
Special Instructions
Transportation to Mikado is not included. Participant must provide their own camping equipment (or inquire at Chippewa Nature Center to borrow equipment) including tent, sleeping pad, backpacking stove, etc.) and food for the week.
