Morton Lloyd Garchik 'Morton Garchik': A twentieth century American painter, illustrator, woodcut artist and writer, Morton Lloyd Garchik is best known for his book illustration art.


Besides illustrating many fine novels of fiction and children's literature, Morton Garchik has authored two important books upon art instruction, Art Fundamentals: Basics of Drawing, Painting, Sculpture and Printmaking (1979) and Creative Visual Thinking (1981).


Many of Morton Garchik's original prints were published by the Associated American Artists of New York. From the 1930's to the mid 1980's the Associated American Artists was a leading publisher of American lithographs, etchings and woodcuts.
