This is a small, rich cake.  It is an eight inch by six inch oval and will provide between eight and twelve servings.  The cake is torted, so there are four layers of cake and three layers of filling inside.  I normally make a triple chocolate cake with whipped chocolate ganache filling, however, I have also made it with lemon cake and lemon cream filling.  Other flavor options are also possible.  The cake is covered with buttercream frosting, applied in a basketweave pattern all around the sides of the cake with a twisted rope trim.  The top is generally decorated with flowers, vines, and a name, though other decorations are possible.  Because the basketweave is labor intensive, these cakes cost a little more than average.  I also use premium ingredients for the cake filling.
