Description

Untitled #10 (Blue)

Acrylic, pastel and oil stick on paper

Dimensions: 11.5 inches x 30 inches

My art incorporates many different styles: layers of found objects, linear drawings and brushstrokes, alongside pieces developed with simplistic, commercial-driven, ready-to-go-to-print, advertising-styled paintings. I also use a blend of graffiti/Sanskrit writing and Japanese text drawings playing back on language as a visual resource in connecting to the viewer.

This particular piece, created for PS 163 in New York, was framed within the idea of how we are continued connections within each other’s space; whether it be past energy or present, how our interactions become reactions and new exchanges in culture, identity and community.

As a native New Yorker, I am pleased to be included in such an amazing project that continues to ignite the fuel of unification throughout our travels in our cities and reconfirms the connection of community to our youth.
