From the underground dance clubs of 1950s Memphis, Tennessee, by way of hit runs at the La Jolla Playhouse and Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre, comes a hot new broadway musical- inspired by actual events- with heart, soul and energy to burn. He's a young, white radio DJ names Huey Calhoun, whose love of music transcends race lines and airwaves. She's an African American singer named Felicia Farrell, whose career is on the rise, but who can't break out of segregated clubs. When the two collaborate, her soulful music reaches radio audiences everywhere, and the Golden Era of early rock 'n' roll takes flight. But as things start to heat up, whether the world is really ready for their music- or their love- is put to the test.
Special Instructions
Memphis runs at The Shubert Theatre on West 44th Street. Seat location is dependent on what day you attend the show. Available dates are a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday from February 23rd-March 31st. Showtimes are as follows: Tuesdays at 7pm, Wednesdays at 2pm or 8pm, and Thursdays at 8pm. Winner must submit top three choices for dates, as your first choice may not be available.
