Miss Ringer took a leave of absence from NYCB from July 1997 through November 1998.  Born in New Bern, North Carolina, Miss Ringer was raised in Summerville, South Carolina where she began her dance training at age 10 with local teachers. At the age of 12 she entered the Washington School of Ballet, where she studied for two years. In 1987 and 1988 Miss Ringer attended summer sessions at the School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet, after which she was invited to enter SAB’s regular program on a full scholarship for the 1988-89 school year.  During her tenure with New York City Ballet, Miss Ringer has been featured in an extensive repertory of works by George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins and Peter Martins.
