Enjoy a luncheon for four and a tour at the Peoria County Jail with your host Sheriff Michael D. McCoy.
Sheriff McCoy graduated from the FBI National Academy in 1976. In 1979, Sheriff McCoy was named Chief of Police in Peoria Heights and served in that office until 1986 when he became Corporate Director of Security for a private industry.
In 1994, Mike returned to the Sheriff's Office as Chief Deputy. He was appointed as the 55th Sheriff of Peoria County on June 10, 2002.
Sheriff McCoy is proud of his involvement in the St. Jude Memphis to Peoria Run which he founded in 1982 and now involves 19 other cities and approximately 1600 runners. This event raised over $2.2 million for St. Jude in 2007, which brings the total raised by this event to over $17 million. Sheriff McCoy is currently Serving as President of the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate Board of Directors.
