On May 15, 2010, Tony Award-winning actress LaChanze (The Color Purple) brings her talent to the world of children’s books with Little Diva. Together with illustrator and Caldecott honoree Brian Pinkney, she has created a picture book that celebrates the importance of family bonds, hard work, and dreaming big.

BAM hosts the event, which begins with brunch.  Afterwards, LaChanze will read from her book, perform the original Little Diva song, and join in on interactive activities with illustrator Pinkney and the kids.  The event will conclude with a book signing.

It's the perfect Saturday family outing.
