UUCA Annual All-Women's Backpacking Trip, #8 of 8

Item Number: 103
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
Winning bidder receives one (1) place on the trip.
This is a classic! Join Beth Stevenson as she leads a backpacking trip of all women into the wilderness for a fun weekend of camping, good food, and a chance to create some lasting friendships.
Beth provides the food and can help with loaner backpacking equipment. Menu will be tailored to the groups needs -- but the Shepherd's Pie and the Fruit compote with brandy sauce are always a hit! We will all share the weight or tents food and shared equipment, but the goal is fun -- not distance! We will work to make the trip fun for all. Trip lengths range from 6-10 miles for the two days/1 night of hiking and camping. Beth hosts an orientation meeting where we get to meet, plan and talk about a few backpacking basics including what to take, how to pack and how to prepare. We always have women who have never backpacked -- and even a few who have never camped. We have women of all ages on the past trips... !
Special Instructions
We will plan the trip for one of the first 2 weekends in April, depending on rain and schedules, so make sure those dates are free. We will leave on Saturday morning early, hike up to the campsite, and then hike back down on Sunday morning. 2 lunches, 1 breakfast, and 1 dinner included.
Most women on the trip get their muscles in shape by doing some training with lots of walking and hiking a head of time.
The attached picture is a section of the Appalachian Trail which I was just on with my father this past spring. It is a section at Deep Gap -- which most of the women from past trips will remember fondly!
