RENÉ BROCHARD


Born in Paris in 1926, with French and Canadian citizenship.  Graduated from L'École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and was greatly influenced by Grommaire and Jacques Villon.


 


While doing murals in the university in Brasilia , Brazil for Oscar Neimeyer, the noted architect, he originated the technique for cutting and forging sheet metal to add a third dimension relief to project shapes or objects in his paintings.  This was named "the new school of metal", or ferropeinture. 


 


Brochard is represented in more than 1500 museums and collections throughout the world, reflecting his travels through Canada , the American Southwest, New Orleans , Mexico , Israel , the jungles and rain forests in South America, and the Far East .
