Matt spent his first full season with Dallas, making the team out of training camp and appearing in 78 games for the Stars…Among NHL rookie defensemen, ranked first in plus/minus (+22), third in goals (7), and fourth in assists (19) and in points (26)…Played on the 2008 Western Conference YoungStars team on Jan. 26 at the NHL All-Star Weekend in Atlanta…Set a career-high with three points (1-2-3) on Dec. 10 vs. Edmonton. That game also featured his first NHL goal…Notched his first two NHL points with two assists on Oct. 5 vs. Boston in his second NHL game…Made his NHL debut on Oct. 3 at Colorado…Appeared in 16 of Dallas’ 18 playoff games, earning three assists with 10 penalty minutes…Registered his first career playoff point with an assist in Game Five at Anaheim on Apr. 18…in 2006-07, joined the Iowa Stars (AHL) after signing a three-year contract on March 19, 2007…Reported to Iowa after completion of his college season at Minnesota-Duluth (UMD)…In the AHL playoffs with Iowa, registered seven points (2-5-7) in 12 games.
