Rosemaling (Norwegian Rose painting) originated in the low-land areas of eastern Norway around 1750.  The Norwegians painted any and every available surface to bring them happiness during their long, dark winters.  I have designed this in the spirit of Rosemaling – not using any particular style of Rosemaling.  I call it “Melmaling.”
