Description
A Case of wonderful red wines to sample from around the world. Enjoy a 3 bottle sample of each of 2000 Chateau Contemerle from Bordeaux, 1998 Meerlust Pinot Noir from South Africa, 2006 Ramey Syrah Shanel from Sonoma, and 2001 Numethia Termes from Spain. The 89 point Cantemerle Bordeaux was reviewed by Robert Parker as a "nicely textured, plum/ruby-colored 2000 with a moderately intense bouquet of black fruits intermingled with licorice, vanilla, and plums. The wine is pure, elegant, medium-bodied, and stylish". The South African Meerlust Pinot is intense, with translucent youthful purple-ruby appearance, very forthcoming perfume on the nose with musk, wild strawberry, cranberry and hints of savory richness and spice and a pronounced mineralogy. Rated 93 points by Parker, the Sonoma Syrah Shanel offers "an opaque purple color followed by enormous quantities of blackberries intermixed with tapenade, acacia flowers, and truffles. Full-bodied, meaty, and dense, it can be drunk over the next decade. " Spain's Numanthia provides intense and vibrant wines, icons of the Toro appellation. Termes shows Toro's quintessential fruit: Ripe but fresh, with velvety texture and lively structure, this wine leaves a general impression of balance and elegance. What a wonderful collection to add to your collection!
