Side chair upholstered with hand-painted fabric.

Ms. Nilsson & Ms. Weekes classes drew a custom textile design onto the fabric which the kindergarteners hand-painted.  They then upholstered the chair with this custom-designed hand-painted fabric. The textile design is based on an African-inspired Kuba cloth pattern. Applying the pattern to the fabric allowed the kindergarten classes to apply the paint colors easily. After the hand-painted fabric was dry, the upholsterer was able to create a beautiful chair! We added the leather stitching detail on the sides and the suede fringe detail at the bottom of the skirt to enhance the beauty of the chair.
