Transition to High School English will be taught by a dynamic series of HRS teachers: 8^th grade English teacher Kelly Brown and 9^th grade English Teacher Jennifer Hu. This course will provide extra support for the transition from Middle School to high school English with primary emphasis on reviewing essentials and previewing critical 9^th grade concepts in literature and writing. Moreover, the course will address important high school academic skills: note-taking, managing a calendar and the ninth grade workload, test preparation, self-advocacy, and more. Based on the HRS English curriculum, this course was developed by HRS 9^th grade English teachers for its debut in summer 2010.
