Butterfly Friends   Written and Illustrated by Corkey Hay DeSimone

Corkey wrote and illustrated Butterfly Friends for the new Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History exhibit, Butterflies and Plants: Partners in Evolution, which will showcase live butterflies and plants in an enclosed pavilion. Butterfly Friends teaches in a simple but fact filled way about the butterfly and it's three friends: the sun, the flowers and of course you (kids)! 

About the Author
Corkey Hay DeSimone lives with her family close to Washington, D.C. She was the founding owner, designer and illustrator for Corkey's Kids, a children's clothing company. In 2003, after 13 years, she sold Corkey's Kids so that she could turn her focus to writing and illustrating educational children's books. After selling Corkey's Kids, she renamed her company Gentle Giraffe Press. She has since written, illustrated and published 22 books and several more are in the works.
