Description

Taken in the summer of 2009 in Baltimore Harbor, this piece is a study in abstracted reflections, shape, and balance.  The water was as smooth as glass that day and reflected the boat and dock with detailed brilliance, altering them slightly to achieve some really interesting effects.  The hanging white bumper at the top blurs the line between what is mirrored in the water and what is solid, and brings our eye down to the reflected piling and dock with the line going off to the left.  From the bottom of the piling, our eye is drawn up to the hull on the right side of the composition, where we see the bright red neon glare of the familiar “Rusty Scupper” restaurant sign captured upside down in the water.  Just a hint of the hull itself is visible, peeking out from the top right corner.

This is a Live Event Item.
