Ethiopian prayer boxes date back to the 4th century AD.  Different cross designs and patterns represent different regions and tribes of Ethiopia.  Ethiopia is one of the oldest Christian countries in the world.  In centuries past when a visitor entered Ethiopia, they had to wipe their feet when coming into the country and also when leaving.  Reason being:  nothing given, nothing taken.  So to posess something from the land of Sheba is truly a gift.  The prayer boxes are small and light such as your worries should be.  Also the prayer boxes DO NOT open because with true faith, you never have to check on your prayers.  Your prayers are  safe in the hands of God.

Prayer box comes with the chain shown.  Length of chain is ~19".  Prayer box is triangular in shape, measuring ~1/2" across the base and ~1/2" from the base to the tip.  Prayer box is immovable (i.e. does not slide on chain).
