The 1986 Gruaud-Larose is among the blockbusters of the vintage. It has a black/purple color, mammoth structure, a wealth of fruit, and a finish that seems to last several minutes. 

Château Gruaud-Larose is in the Saint-Julien appellation of the Bordeaux region of France. The wine produced here was classified as one of fifteen Deuxièmes Crus (Second Growths) in the original Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855.
