The winner of this gift certificate is entitled to a free tasting of all wines (current release, reserve, and library wines) and a tour for six at our Napa Valley Winery.  The bearer is also entitled to one free case of Hagafen Cellars Prix Reserve 2006 Estate Bottled Napa Valley Pinot Noir: California Soleil Vineyard, to be picked up by the winner at the winery.

At Hagafen Cellars, we believe in producing wines which we ourselves drink and enjoy: cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, merlot, pinot noir, sauvignon blanc, syrah, white riesling, and zinfandel.  We also produce three highly acclaimed brut cuvee sparkling wines.  Why so many different varietals but such small quantities?  Because small-lot releases allow us to hand-select and produce the absolute best of each year's production.  Hagafen Cellars brings together the elements of "Old Napa" style so often missing from today's world of wine: a respect for lineage, knowledge of age-old customs for the crafting of wine, and superior releases that reveal a depth of charcater and a hallmark of place.  For these reasons, our total production each year is only 8,000 cases.  Anything else forgets why wine has been so central to our lives for thousands of years, connecting us to passion and celebrating the good things of life with relatives and friends.

We believe that fine wine starts with superb fruit. Thus, at Hagafen Cellars, we seek to showcase the premium grape varietal in each of our wines.  Our long-term goal has been to marry the famous Napa Valley tradition of producing premium varietals for the sophisticated palate with the everyday tradition of family-based enjoyment of fine wines.  Our small family winery competes successfully alongside other Napa Valley wineries at wine competitions and blind wine tastings.  We are proud of of our success and honored to be able to produce these fine wines according to Jewish dietary laws.

About the wine:

2006 Prix Reserve Pinot Noir CA Soleil Vineyard: DOUBLE GOLD!!  Only 275 cases!  Our second block-designate release from this vineyard, this reserve 2006 bottling shows why we have used wine from these thirty-plus year old vines in our "red label" blend for years.  It presents aromas of bright cherry, strawberry and honey while the drastically low yields we get from these vines produce a "New World" pinot of mouth-filling cherry, spice, and zippy white pepper.  This wine is all about experience, and given how little of it there is, we urge you to get it now or miss it forever.
