                           2009 Vermentino

'Best of Class' and 'Judges Choice' at 2010 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition

2009 Vermentino - This is an amazingly fruity/floral wine widely planted in Sardinia and Corsica. The pear, jasmine, melon, and lemon zest leap from the glass. The structure is soft and medium bodied. The grapes were hand harvested, and the juice was cold fermented to bring out the intensity of this fantastic grape variety. Made with a goal of preserving the pure fruit, oak barrels were not used. It was bottled early, using screw tops to capture and preserve the incredible character and concentration. A very food-friendly wine, chill and drink with grilled white fish or calamari, pasta with shellfish, or steamed mussels, It is delicious when paired with sushi or Asian food. This will become your favorite white wine.
