2001 Ahlgren Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Santa Cruz Mountains Bates Ranch

Dusty, earthy, briary, floral, elegant bouquet.  Silky rich, forward fruit flavors.  Fine balance, mouth filling, long finish with hints of chocolate.  Best of show at Santa Cruz County Fair wine judging.

2006 Lyrique Syrah Solo

Dark purple, almost black in color.  Big notes of pepper and smoked meat, black berry and dark chocolate.  Extracted on the palate, mouth coating and lush with long, long finish.  Great Santa Barbara/Los Olives Syrah.
