Description
337 Single Clone Cabernet Sauvignon Lodi--Double Magnum Format
337 Cabernet Sauvignon is grown in the rich and rocky soil of the Clay Station Vineyard in the Lodi foothills of the sierra Nevada mountains. What is 337? It's not just Clay Station Vineyards bottled of Cabernet but a clone of the Cabernet Sauvignon grape. The 337 clone usually is referred to as #337 to give vineyards an exact description of the vines they're using. #337 clone is used in many wine mixes along with other clones to give a specific tone, smoothness and feeling to the wine. Each grape clone has its own attributes, all closely related to the original Cabernet grape with small variants that make it special. 337 produces deep colored berries with lower yield with desirable juice and skin. This particular wine is very dark...hold it to the light and you'll see no illumination in your glass. The color is very intense with a captivating reddish purple hue that is nearly opaque (Don’t spill it on anything you can’t afford to throw out).
It's very dark and purple. 337 has well balanced tannins with juicy flavors of black cherries and currants and fruity aromas that seam to jump out of the glass. These rich flavors are followed up by layers of vanilla and black pepper toward the finish. Enjoy this one with your next grilled steak or as a guilty (but affordable) pleasure! The large bottle format makes a terrific presentation at your next outdoor BBQ on your patio.
