Description

2 Bottles 2005 Chateau Dubraud Premieres Cotes de Blaye

Per Robert Parker, 2005 is the finest vintage for the Cotes de Blaye Bordeaux region since 1982.  The wines from this area consistently scored well for this vintage.  Given the style of the vintage, most of these wines are accessible young yet will evolve for another decade because of their concentration and tannic structure.  This vintage is so deep in quality among the better run, less heralded estates, that these wines will appeal to those looking for terrific values from Bordeaux.  While these wines are blends, they are Merlot based.

2 Bottles of 2003 St. Supery Virtu Meritage White

Wine Spectator 89.  This qualifies as one of the most interesting whites we've come across in quite some time.  While we really enjoyed it with the clams (white sauce), it was equally terrific all by itself.  Ripe and concentrated, with an underpinning of vibrant lemony acidity, which enlivens the grass, hay, apricot and lemon rind notes, harmonizing with toasty oak nuances on a plush, generous finish.  Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon blend.
