1999 Domaine De Courcel Grand Clos Des Epenots

In the hands of the de Courcel family since the XVI century this prestigious Domaine covers 9 hectares of vineyards located exclusively in the commune of Pommard.  It includes the best "Premiers Crus" and particularly the "Grand Clos des Epenots", Monopole of the Domaine.  During four centuries the Domaine de Courcel has always produced wines typical of the appellation Pommard:  wines of great structure and finesse unique to the Cote de Beaune.  In 1996, in order to better meet the expectations of the most demanding Burgundian connoisseurs, the Domaine appointed winemaker Yves Confuron.  Since this time their wines greater reflect the individual terroirs and present a natural balance with a more pronounced structure and an intense aromatic complexity.

This wine has been perfectly cellared for ten years.  While it can be enjoyed now, it will continue to mature over the next 5-10 years.  It's a fabulous example of great Burgundy from Pommard.  Decant a couple of hours prior to serving.
