The Volunteer Center Spring Extravaganza 2011 is now open. The auction will run from May 16, 2011 to May 30, 2011, with proceeds going to Volunteer Center of Kern County in order to support volunteerism in Kern County.   Auction items range from exotic vacation getaways to donated items guaranteed to delight and surprise. V-O-L-U-N-T-E-E-R-S, more than 12,000 strong contributed over $60 MILLION dollars of service to our local non profits in 2010.  The Volunteer Center is in the business of volunteers and we are asking for your help in continuing a 40 year tradition!!!!  Hundreds of local non profits rely on us EVERY DAY to supply them with the volunteers needed to fulfill their mission and meet the current needs of our residents.  The Homeless Shelter, CAPK Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Boys & Girls Club, Golden Empire Gleaners, American Cancer Society and HUNDREDS of other devoted organizations receive our assistance.
