This lovely hand drawn and hand painted silk scarf measures 52 inches by 8.25 inches, and features black olives and green olive branches on a background of rich ochres. This is a beautiful one-of-a-kind piece, personally signed by the artist Deborah Padrick.

For over 3 decades, Deborah has created wearable and gallery art pieces by painting with dyes on silk. The process involves drawing the line design with gutta resist onto the white silk. The dyes are then brushed on the silk and flow and blend magically in the painting. The silk art is set, and is washable or drycleanable, and very durable for wearing. Deborah teaches workshops in this art form in the San Francisco Bay area and in Sonoma County, California. Listings of current classes can be found under teaching dates. Workshops can be designed for private groups also. She has been the recipant of eighteen California Arts Council grants to teach this art form in schools.
