A Native New Englander, Lori Surdut Weinberg completed her BFA and MAE at Rhode Island School of Design, where she has been teaching for the past 32 years.
Her work has been featured as "Artist of the Month" in Artist's Magazine and has also been featured in many other magazines such as Mixing Color Book, The Italian D. and D. Magazine, and Rhode Island Monthly.
Lori is known for her innovative oil pastel technique. In one-woman shows, she has exhibited oil pastels, watercolors, and illustrations at the Gross McCleaf Gallery (Philadelphia), the Hirschberg Gallery (Boston), Sailors Valentine Gallery (Nantucket), and the RISD Museum (Providence). Her worked has also been displayed in several other US and European Galleries.
Her prize winning style and popularity has grown in recent years with her commissions, paintings, and limited addition prints, attracting the attention and excitement of collectors and galleries throughout the United States and Europe.
"The scenes I created are taken from places that I have traveled to and have left a strong impression on me. I try to capture the light and colors, and use them to portray the atmosphere of my surroundings."
