A Note from the Artist:

Collage and Abstract Expressionism are Modernist inventions that have profoundly influenced my aesthetic and my structural process. My paintings are primarily lyrical improvisations, never worked from preconceived designs or drawings.

I want to explore and exploit the tradition of Abstract Expression, but in a new and contradictory fashion. For me, painting is a conflict between analysis and emotion, control and surrender. I want to build paintings with suggestive imagery that have actions of paint and hand that are deliberate, slow, and appear inevitable.

This is a Live Event Item.
