Patti Smith is an American singer/songwriter, poet, and visual artist who became a highly influential component of the New York City punk rock movement in the 1970s. In 2010, she published her best-selling memoir Just Kids and to this day, she remains devoted to political causes she supports. Patti is also an active visual artist, expressing herself most often through photography.
